Chang Liu is a scientist, engineer, entrepreneur, and author. He is an American businessman who founded TeenSharks Startup School and Seven Parallel Consulting firm. Dr. Liu is based in Chicago, IL.
As a scientist he worked in the area of sensors and MEMS technology. His work on biomimetic sensors and artificial haircell sensors got him elected a Fellow of the IEEE. He was a professor at UIUC and Northwestern for over 20 years. Dr. Liu left academia in 2016 to found SensicFusion Ltd, a company with a focus on fusion sensing micro sensors. He is also very passionate about learning everything about the startup process and technology commercialization.
Dr. Liu earned his BS degree in Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, and his Ph.D. degree at the Electrical Engineering program (EE) of the California Institute of Technology (Caltech).
Dr Liu served as a tenured professor at ECE and MIE departments of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign between 1996 to 2007. He then was a tenured full professor at the engineering school of Northwestern University between 2007-2016.
